Gosh, one and a half month ago my girl C. and I went to Düsseldorf for a weekend (why is time passing so fast?!).
I've get in touch with C during the first semester. She's my so-called soul sister because I've never met a girl before who was so similar. She loves fashion like I do (to be honest to us it's more a passion and some kind of religion - yeeees this is crazy but this is us) and going shopping, partying and talking for hours. During our second semester - while we were busy studying - we get a flash of inspiration: let's spend one weekend a year together in an unknown big city! This is kind of a big deal to us and I hope it will be a traditional thing in future. To put it in a nutshell, this year we went 3 days to Düsseldorf.
Four hours of driving, laughing, losing sight of two red traffic lights and endless talking later we arrived at our hotel: the Radisson Blu Media Harbour Hotel. There's no denying that this hotel is a pretty awesome designer place to stay with a delicious restaurant and a gorgeous entrance hall (which has such a beautiful fireplace that we both never wanted to leave anymore). The room couldn't barely be better and the mattresses were to steal for.
Besides our hotel which was located in the beautiful harbor area we spent the whole Saturday morning and afternoon with shopping. If you've got plenty of money you will definitely enjoy the Königsallee with all its designer stores and luxury items (whereas we didn't have the loosen money we enjoyed being in the lap of luxury). Moreover, you have to visit the historic district with its nice side streets and lovely restaurants.
Of course we enjoyed not only the shopping but also the partying! The first night the taxi brought us to the club named The Attic located at the Kö. It's a nice club but not that large and I get the feeling that we two were one of the oldest beside all those 18-year-old-looking-guests (and we're 20 - that was a little bit weird). However, on Saturday we visited the club Nachtresidenz and ooooh my gosh (!) this is the best club I've ever been to! It has so many floors and a cupola room. You have to check out a night there if you will be in Düsseldorf.
Unfortunately, time went -like always- too fast. Before we left this beautiful city we had a look at the photography exhibition of Ranking. I love this man and his photos. C and I could have stolen all of his images!!!
Have you ever been to Düsseldorf? Are you also in love with this special city?
